OMNI+ alerts

The following describes the alarms, errors, and warnings for the OMNI+ meter.

Table 1. OMNI+ alerts
Meter event nameRNI event nameEvent descriptionEvent triggerEvent sourceXylem recommended action
Beyond End of LifeBeyond End of LifeRegister has reached the end of its operational life. For a 10 year battery device, End-of-life alarm becomes active 11 years from date of manufacture or 10 years from Date of Activation whichever is less. Alarm-specific additional data field indicates number of days elapsed after meter reached end-of-life. Alarm is updated once a day at midnight.Smart MeterPlan scheduled maintenance.
Config ErrorConfiguration ErrorFactory Seal is not set.Configuration error alarm becomes active when factory seal is not set. Alarm is checked once an hour.Smart MeterInvestigate.
High FlowHigh FlowTriggers when the flow rate though the meter meets or exceeds the set value for the set time. Could be caused by a broken pipe.Triggers when flow rate exceeds set value for set period. The default is 25 GPM, 5.7 M3/HR, 200 CF/HR in an hour.Smart MeterInvestigate.
LeakContinuous FlowTriggers when the flow rate through the meter meets or exceeds the configured value for the configured period of time.Triggers when flow rate exceeds configured value for configured time period. The defaults are 0.25 GPM, 0.05 M3/HR, 2 CF/HR in 24hr period.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Low Primary BatteryLow Metrology Battery VoltsLow battery.Battery low voltage alarm becomes active when the battery voltage is below 2.7 V for any 4 consecutive 15 sample periods.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Meter Disconnect TamperMeter Disconnect TamperMeter disconnected from radio due to cut or broken wire.Alarm is defined for end-to-end solution but detection is not presently supported by the meter.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Near End of LifeNear End of LifeRegister is nearing the end of its operational life. For a 10 year battery device, Near End of Life alarm becomes active 10.5 years from date of manufacture or 9.5 years from Date of Activation whichever is less. Alarm-specific additional data field indicates number of days remaining before meter reaches end-of-life. Alarm is updated once a day at midnight.Smart MeterPlan scheduled maintenance.
Non-Volatile Memory ErrorConfiguration Error"Non-Volatile Memory Error". NV memory checksum failed.NV memory checksum failed.Smart MeterReset Firmware Image or start a new firmware load.
RebootMeter RebootRegister rebooted.Reboot alarm is triggered when the register has rebooted.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Reverse FlowReverse FlowTriggers an alert when there is a consistent reverse flow for a specified period of time.Triggers when flow is detected in opposite direction. (From the Marketing spreadsheet.) The default flow rate is 1 GPM, 0.22 M3/HR, 8 CF/HR over a minute.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Upgrade ModeUpgrade ModeMeter is receiving a firmware image.Alarm is set when the device begins to receive firmware image blocks. It is marked as no longer occurring before executing the flasher app as the last part of a firmware upgrade. Upon booting into the upgraded image, the alarm is in persistent state with start time associated with the reception of Load Start command and stop time associated with the reception of Flash Start command. If after loading the new image, the CRC fails, the Alarm condition is maintained until a Reset Firmware Image is received or a new image is attempted to be loaded.Smart MeterInvestigate.
