Config Error and Historical Config Error*Configuration ErrorConfiguration file has been set to the defaults.Set when no valid configuration is found and firmware loads the defaults for configuration.Smart MeterInvestigate, reconfigure meter in field, make plans to replace meter soon.
Critical Hardware WarningCritical Hardware WarningMeter has detected that some peripheral hardware may be failing, but this does not affect core water metrology.Detection of possible hardware failure.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Dead BatteryDead BatteryMeter battery is dead or too low to accumulate flow data.Battery capacity drops below functional threshold.Smart MeterReplace the meter.
EMF Range and Historical EMF RangeEMF RangeVoltage between electrodes is too large to measure water flow.Voltage between electrodes is too large to measure water flow.Smart MeterReplace the meter.
Empty PipeEmpty PipeNo water is detected for one minute.Metrology had detected an empty pipe if no water is detected for one minute.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Glide Slope and Historical Glide SlopeGlide SlopeBattery monitoring algorithm is detecting current consumption greater than expected.Battery monitoring algorithm is detecting current consumption greater than expected.Smart MeterThis alarm is informational.
High CurrentHigh CurrentMeter may be consuming excessive power, possibly due to frequent bidirectional communications.Meter estimates power consumption is over 4 times target budget.Smart MeterInvestigate.
High Current and Historical High CurrentHigh CurrentSet if the 15 minute power estimator power consumption is 4x more than expected. Early detection of high power consumption.Set if 1 minute power estimator power consumption is 4x more than expected. Early detection of high power consumption or magnetic tamper.Smart MeterInvestigate.
High Temperature and Historical High TemperatureRegister Over TemperatureTemperature exceeded the maximum temperature for rated components for one hour.Temperature exceeded the maximum temperature for rated components for one hour.Smart MeterThis alarm is informational.
LeakContinuous FlowMetrology detects continuous forward flow of any rate for 24 hours or more.Metrology detects continuous forward flow of any rate for 24 hours (or more)Smart MeterInvestigate.
Low Field and Historical Low FieldLow FieldMagnetic field has drifted outside of expected field range. Early detection of magnetic tamper.Magnetic field has drifted outside of expected field range. Early detection of magnetic tamper.Smart MeterInformational.
Magnetic TamperMagnetic TamperMeter could not regulate the magnetic field for 15 minutes.Meter could not regulate the magnetic field for 15 minutes.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Meter Low Battery*Low Metrology Battery VoltsThis is an indication that end of the device's estimated life is nearing. There is less than six months of battery life left.1. Time in 'idle' mode 2. Time active (normal operation) 3. The calculated consumption amount.Smart MeterMake plans to replace meter soon.
Metrology Communications ErrorInternal Communication ErrorMeter is unable to communicate with metrology core.Meter is unable to communicate with metrology core.Smart MeterReturn Material Authorization (RMA) to Sensus or replace the meter.
Misc Metrology The metrology data is potentially becoming unreliable due to high noise or excessive flow rate.High noise: There is a potential degradation in meter accuracy caused by an applied external electric current on or in the water line that exceeds the threshold for at least 15 minutes. Excessive flow rate: This threshold is programmable after R1.1.xx. Prior to that release, the maximum allowable flow rate is 55 gpm, the maximum flow physically possible for a 3/4" ally meter.Smart MeterIf this alarm is caused by high noise, it will clear when the noise drops below the programmed threshold, or if the meter enters empty pipe mode.
Non-Volatile Memory ErrorConfiguration ErrorData violation. The configuration file and calibration file do not match.Data violation; the configuration file and calibration file do not match.Smart MeterReturn Material Authorization (RMA) to Sensus. Sensus will troubleshoot, reconfigure or upgrade the firmware.
RebootMeter RebootMeter has rebooted.Meter has rebooted.Smart MeterInvestigate excessive reboots.
Severe Hardware ProblemHardware FailureThe controller is not communicating with the metrology chip. No accumulation of water flow was collected.Core metrology hardware failure or calibration data corruption.Smart MeterReturn Material Authorization (RMA) to Sensus or replace the meter.
SmartMeter Low Battery Volts and Historical Low Battery Volts*Low Metrology Battery VoltsMeter's battery volts has dropped to 2.5V for at least one hour.Meter's battery volts has dropped to 2.5V for at least one hour.Smart MeterThe alarm will clear if the battery’s voltage goes above the threshold; no further action is required. If the low battery flag is continually detected this is an indicator that the unit needs to be replaced.
SmartMeter TouchRead Failure and Historical TouchRead FailureTouch Read FailureCommunications error detected on the Touchcouple interface by the meter.Communications error detected on the Touchcouple interface by the meter.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Swapped MeterSwapped MeterMeter has been changed without properly configuring the SmartPoint module.Meter has been changed without properly configuring the SmartPoint module.Smart MeterInvestigate.
Upgrade ModeUpgrade ModeThe meter gets stuck in firmware upgrade mode. While in this mode no accumulation of water flow is collected.Initiation of firmware upgrade.Smart MeterWater meter metrology can only be upgraded in the field or by Sensus. Use the tool to exit the upgrade mode.
